How to install/set up Fcar FVCI J2534 software?

OEM official website : http://www.fcar.com

1. Software setup 

The FVCI tool package is in the CD, or it can download from http://www.fcar.com.

1) Double click FVCI_Setup.exe.

2) Click “Next” button.

3) Go on click “Next” button

4)Click “finish” button. The software setup done.

2. Install .net framework4.0

1)Click ”Microsoft.NET”.

2) Accept license terms and click on Install

3. USB driver install

1)  FVCI connect to power, then the device working.

2)Connect USB line to computer.

3) Click “Start”

4) Click “control panel”.

5) Change the view to small icon in the top right corner.

6) Find “Device manager”.

7) And you will find “FVCI” label. (The USB must be connected to the computer.)

8) Right click ”FVCI”, and click “Update Driver Software”.

9)Click “Browse my computer for driver ”.

10）Click “Browse”, and input the driver path of USB driver package.

11) Click ”OK”, then click”next”.

12) If there is a windows security popup, Click “Install this driver software anyway”.

13)　If following information displays, it means install successful.

14) Check the “device manager”, if you see below figure, it means FVCI has been connected to the computer.

15) Start running software.

How to Update Fcar FVCI J2534 Passthru Software & Firmware?

1. Click “FVCI” icon on the desktop. Note: The computer must be connected to internet.

2. Click “Read Version” can read FVCI software and hardware version.

3. Click “Firmware Update” can update the hardware.
4. Click “Software Update” can update the software.
5. Click”DOIP”, then click “Enter DOIP mode”, the FVCI will enter the situation of Ethernet convert to OBD2 of DOIP.

6. Click ”Firmware Refresh” when you operate“firmware update” error.

Update Tips
1) Please enable internet connection before upgrade
2) The firmware version and software version must be the newest version mean while. Other wise the device will appear some error.

3)  If you use “Firmware update” failed, you can use “Firmware refresh”.

Obdstar X300 DP Review

There seems to be no post about OBDSTAR X300 DP tablet key programmer, how does it work?

Reply:

1. with the amount of different tablets obdstar and xtool are releasing I wouldn’t buy any of them.

2. This one looks very good though, i know what you are saying, but on my x100 pro, my first 3 jobs paid for it!, not much alternative. because the tool works goodPs. the way that i look at it the tool worth one A100 module!

3. I got the basic configuration of x300 dp, then I upgraded to the full version, update for $199

( i believe its oil reset and some diagnostics that’s missing from standard, keys, immo and mileage is same)

4. by all accounts its the dogs doodahs on anything Honda including rematching ecu after flat battery, and as it includes all the green units F100 to F109 it seems to have a lot of token free coverage including it claims Toyota G and H reset, if just 70% of the claimed coverage works then its a lot of programmer for the money and paid for and in profit after half a dozen jobs.
   its one of those units that may or may not be top draw but is easy to get payback on

5. I am going to buy it in a few weeks time, at the Mechanex show in Dubai, hopefully cheaper, and a good chance to talk to the supplier. will post when I have it. I don’t know about H and G type, but I have used X100 pro on Honda Crv, pcm matching, after flat battery, the annoying thing is only accepting 15/16 digit Vin(cant remember), not 17 digit, but it worked. Although I bought my x100 pro 2 years ago, I can still update mine, strange!

6. they have released a green unit for Toyota G and H chip resetting, they claim that this as well as all the green units are on the x300 dp, what works and what does not will at some point be another thread i imagine as is the norm.
   those i’ve spoke to that have it are very happy with it, has its fails but successes too.
   when i look at the new truecode Ford ftc4 and PSA pin reading release it has same coverage exactly as last update on the x300 dp and green units, though i’d trust chris more than a chinese tool as he at leasts tests his releases prior to release, and isn’t greedy.

7. i have the g-scan tab, great addition to the arsenal.
   I’ve ordered an OBDSTAR x300 dp, mainly for Honda token free and for the f100 to f109 units coverage, i spoke to them at length on it before ordering, i made it clear i was looking at buying either all 9 green units or the x300 dp, or id buy the x300 dp and any green units not covered on it, they assured me id be wasting my money buying both as all green units included on x300 dp, so i’ve ordered one which will be here later in week.
   i have it in writing that key master dp includes all functions on green units, so we will see, if the case the cost of this unit will have paid back in 5 days once i receive it as have some nice jobs booked in that it can be tried on, if it works its paid back straight away.

8. the green stand alone units, F100, F101, F102,F103, F104, F105, F106, F107, F108, F109.
   a lot rave over the ford/mazda unit, nissan unit, suzuki unit and psa unit. just released toyota g and h unit as well as others
   i got g-scan tab from hickleys, blinding kit, gonna get some use this one

9. It’s excellent on Honda, including rematching ecu and immo after flat battery, paid for itself on these alone, i’ve done odd new model Fords that other kit has struggled with, Honda its excellent, late Ford its good, been reliable on Hyundai and Kia though i use Gscan on these now, Mazda its very good on. its bailed me out when mainstream units have failed. it has its issues but has paid its way many times over for me.

10. I can reset G-key with Obdstar, not H-key.
    Programming H-key in Virgin box works fine.
    For smart H reset, i use Tango.
    These are European types.

11. Toyota Prado 2008 add spare key ok, had to reset immo.

12. Ford Mondeo 2005 add key: failed, erase key: failed(Ford Mazda before 2008, best is T300.
    All new programmer have bad support for older car)

Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P register, install and update

The Autel MaxiSYS Pro is the most comprehensive OBD2 tool for the professional technician who performs J-2534 reprogramming on a regular basis. The WIFI Autel MaxiSys Pro MS908P supports diagnostic and programming functions for multi-brand vehicle systems. Following are the software register, install and update instruction.

How to install Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P software?

There are two Setup.exe program packages contained in the CD provided with the MaxiSys tool kit. The packages include the following applications:

1. PC Link – launches a Printing Services program which receives and
allows editing the files sent from the MaxiSys tablet for printing

2. Driver Program – setup driver program for the VCI device

How to register Autel MaxiSYS MS908P pro programmer?

In order to get access to the Support platform and obtain update and other services from Autel, you are required to register the MaxiSys Diagnostic Device the first time you use it.

To register the diagnostic device
1. Visit the website: http://pro.auteltech.com.
2. On the Sign In page, input your account ID and other information to log in, if you already have an account.
3. If you are a new member to Autel and do not have an account yet, click the Create Autel ID button on the left side.
4. Enter the required information in the input fields, read through Autel’s Terms and Conditions and tick on Agree, and then click Create Autel ID at the bottom to continue.
5. The online system will automatically send a confirmation email to the registered email address. Validate your account by clicking the link provided through the mail. A product registration screen opens.
6. Find out the device’s serial number and password from the About section of the Settings application on the MaxiSys Display Tablet.
7. Select the product model of your device, enter the product serial number and password on the Product Registration screen, and click Submit to complete the registration procedure.

How to Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P diagnostic scanner?

1) To update the software
Each car model software has different version. We provide free update online for One Year, after one year update fee is 995USD/year

2) To update the firmware
The internal programming of the MaxiSys Diagnostic System, known as the firmware, can be updated using the Update application. Firmware updates increase the MaxiSys applications’ capabilities, typically by adding new tests, new models, or enhanced applications to the database. The display device automatically searches for available updates for all of the Maxisys components when it is connected to the internet. Any updates that are found can be downloaded and installed on the device.

1. Power up the MaxiSys Display Tablet, and ensure that it is connected to a power source and with steady internet connection.
2. Tap the Update application button from the MaxiSys Job Menu; or tap the update notification message when received one. The Update application screen displays.
3. Check all available updates:  If you decide to update all the items, tap the Update All button. If you only want to update some individual items, tap the Update button on the right column of the specific item.
4. Tap the Pause button to suspend the updating process. When you tap Continue to renew the update, the updating process will resume from the break point.
5. When the updating process is completed, the firmware will be installed automatically. The new version will replace the original version if there is one.

How to lower PSA Lexia resolution to 1024×600 on Windows 7

Share the configuration files changes to lower the resolution of PSA Lexia to 1024×600:

Go to :\APP\LEXIA\EXE\ecran.ini
Change hauteur_ecran to 600

I confirmed that this does indeed work.

Today I installed Diagbox V7.06 on a Samsung NC110 netbook borrowed from work (1.5Ghz atom, 2GB ram) and it has a 1024×600 screen, with the modification above the Lexia app works perfectly and is fully readable, the only thing is on some of the parameters measurement screens you have to scroll to see the last row but that’s a minor issue, as the Lexia app does seem to support UI scaling and scrolling once it’s been told what resolution to scale to! Diagbox and PP2000 don’t seem to need any changes to work correctly on 1024×600.

Also of interest is that the notebook is running Windows 7 professional 32 bit and Diagbox/Lexia installed perfectly and apart from the resolution tweak I didn’t do anything special to get it to work, so Lexia DOES work properly in 32 bit Windows 7, at least on certain machines.  I’ve run several diagnostic sessions on the Xantia to test it.

I used the Diagbox 7.02 installer and 7.02 to 7.06 updater from scarymistake, installed by mounting the iso image using MagicDisc 2.7. (Since the notebook has no DVD drive)

Considering its only an atom and has the extra overhead of Windows 7, whilst taking a bit longer that my other laptop to load Diagbox once Lexia is launched its not really any slower and is perfectly usable.

Compared to our Dell laptop the notebook is far more convenient – smaller and lighter, twice the battery life (6 hours compared to 2.5) and it has a VERY bright screen when turned up which is easy to read in sunlight unlike the Dell which can barely be read outdoors let alone in direct sunlight…

So if someone is looking for a cheap but very usable notebook for a dedicated Lexia machine I can recommend the Samsung NC110… the only thing to watch out for is that this one is the 2GB version, a lot of the NC110 I’ve seen on ebay only have 1GB of ram which may not be sufficient to run Diagbox software under Windows 7.

UPA USB Original or Clone? Green or Red PCB?

UPA UUSP clone or original? Upa usb – red or green board?

Here, I’ll chip in some words of my experience of UPA USB original and the clone (green & red board).

I test in various china UPA interfaces and the interface that not block and dont need any modding and any eeprom is red one.
I test in 2 red UPA with 1.3.0.14 (software from china)and works perfect. The only thing to bypass the reg is run soft and then connect UPA to USB and when ask for registration not write nothing, only click accept and run ok.

This days i make a how to. its simply.

1º install soft.
2ºcopy 3 files overwritten old.(this is the software from china its in all pages).
3º run soft.(it will run without asking nothing).
4º plug UPA(when UPA is plugged a window appear and ask for registration, in this moment click in activate).

I make a step that is use the new drivers whit UPA(in chineese pages are how to install and is what is the correct driver) but whit old drivers works too.

I make this steps in 2 red ones and works ok. but if try on a green PCB the soft kill the 24c128(if i remember well) and must be reprogramed.
The only difference between red and green is a pic that in red isn’t in mainboard and has in USB board. i think in there is any serial.

I did tested my UPA 1.2 red from China with some versions of software from China also but it didn’t worked. 

I have red version 1.3. I have installed software, patched all files, software does not start, gives an error. I use win7. I’ve tested on virtual machine xp, it killed my virtual machine.

How to Update Fcar FVCI J2534 Passthru Software & Firmware?

1. Click “FVCI” icon on the desktop. Note: The computer must be connected to internet.


2. Click “Read Version” can read FVCI software and hardware version.





3. Click “Firmware Update” can update the hardware.
4. Click “Software Update” can update the software.
5. Click”DOIP”, then click “Enter DOIP mode”, the FVCI will enter the situation of Ethernet convert to OBD2 of DOIP.





6. Click ”Firmware Refresh” when you operate“firmware update” error.


Update Tips:


1) Please enable internet connection before upgrade
2) The firmware version and software version must be the newest version meanwhile. Otherwise the device will appear some error.
3)  If you use “Firmware update” failed, you can use “Firmware refresh”.
